This Friday (May 4) is King of the Dot’s “Carnage” event, and while it hasn’t received the hype of a World Domination or Blackout event, it’s one of the stronger cards in recent memory. There isn’t a battle on the card, that I’m not interested in seeing, for one reason or another. BattleFix.com decided to put out our predictions for the battles going down, feel free to leave your own predictions in the comments below.
Note: This event will also have a beatbox battle between C-Fresh vs Young, and a DJ battle between !Kryme Won vs Cancer the Crab.
Blaze vs Bulle
Aggression. That’s one thing you can count on from this battle, if nothing else. Both have a similar style, and take the same approach to their battles. You can also expect both of them to have plenty of people standing behind them, hyping up the crowd. If Blaze plays into Bulle’s style and tries to match his aggression, I think Bulle’s going to take it. If Blaze is going to take this battle, I think his only chance is to do it with jokes. He’s good at mixing humor into his bars, and if he can get the crowd on his side through comedy, he may be able to pull out a win.
Prediction: Bulle 2-1
Big Mac vs Sun Tzu
Sun Tzu’s coming off the debated loss to Fingaz, in arguably the best battle of the GP’s First Round. It was so closely contested, that choosing a winner basically came down to personal preference. He’ll be looking to capitalize on the buzz he’s carrying from that performance, and prove he belongs in King of the Dot. Big Mac is coming off an impressive victory in his return at Blackout 2, and has stated he’s made this battle a priority.
Prediction: Sun Tzu 2-1
Amzilla vs Yung Casper
Amzilla will be making his KOTD debut, while Yung Casper looks to recover from his GP elimination. I’d consider Amzilla to be the favorite, but if Yung Casper is able to be consistent for three rounds, he may be able to pull out an upset. Amzilla has often incorporated freestyling into his rounds, and it occasionally backfires on him. Being his debut, I can only assume he will be prepared though.
Prediction: Amzilla 3-0
Tricky P vs Stepeasy (GP)
In the first of four GP Round 2 battles, Tricky P will be going up against Step Easy. Step had arguably his best performance in the first round, and will be looking to continue his momentum. Tricky P received a bye in the first round, so this will be his first battle in the GP. While Step Easy has shown a great deal of improvement recently, I feel Tricky P will be able to win on consistency, and his ability to take control of a crowd.
Prediction: Tricky P 3-0
Charron vs 100Bulletz (GP)
100 Bulletz managed to upset Dose in the first round, with an impressive performance. The writing has always been there, but it was the first time the performance matched it, and he showed confidence for three solid rounds. I feel like we’ll only see more improvement from his in this battle, and it could solidify him a spot on KOTD’s main roster. That said, I feel that Charron’s ability to capture a crowd with rebuttals will play a major factor, and he’ll edge out the battle, at least to the live crowd and judges.
Prediction: Charron 2-1
Arcane vs Luciano Crakk (GP)
If there was going to be an upset on this card, this could be it. Much like I said about Bulletz below, Crakk has had the bars to compete for a while, but only recently has his performance lived up to the writing. Knowing that he would be facing Arcane if he won in the first round, I can only assume he’s had his bars prepared for a while. If he can perform all three rounds solidly, he may shock the crowd and earn himself an upset. That said…
Prediction: Arcane 2-1
Kid Twist vs Uno Lavoz (GP)
You can never count Uno Lavoz out. If he’s shown people nothing else in the last six months, he’s proven that. From his battle with Jonny Storm, to the unconventional win over Zm in the first round, Uno’s shown he knows what it takes to win a battle. You never really know what to expect from him any more, but you know it will be something you haven’t seen before. Kid Twist, however, is one of the few battlers who can match up with him on humor. No one’s really been able to out-joke Lavoz, or even tried. If anyone was going to do it, it would be Kid Twist.
Prediction: Kid Twist 2-1
PH vs TheSaurus (#1 Contender Match)
As you can see from the previous articles promoting this battle, we feel like this isn’t getting the hype it deserves. For the first time, you have two established names in battle rap, actively doing whatever it takes to earn themselves a shot at the chain. Early on, you’d hear top tier battlers saying they weren’t interested in being champion, for one reason or another. That is no longer the case. Instead, we have two established names in battling, who have worked hard to earn themselves a chance at the chain, facing to see who gets the shot.
This one really is a toss up, and my opinion has changed back and forth multiple times. One thing there is no question about, is that whoever wins this battle, deserves the shot.
Prediction: (At the moment) The Saurus 2-1
