A consequence of our natural tendency to dominate. A physical manifestation of our innate desire to crush the competition. An evolutionary examination intended to single out “The Best”.
On June 9th war will be waged and history will be made.
Possibly the biggest battle to ever take place is going to happen on June 9th at The Exchange LA in California., This event is hosted by King Of The Dot which is North America’s Premier Hip Hop Battle League, The main event between hip hop legend Canibus and arguably the world’s best battler, Dizaster.
Boasting a huge wealth of experience against a seemingly endless list of opponents, Dizaster has undoubtedly earned his place as one of the world’s most infamous battle rappers. He first gained notoriety battling veterans like The Saurus and Illmaculate just to name a couple. From there Dizaster went on to face a veritable who’s-who list of top opponents, going toe-to-toe with respected names such as, LockSmith, Arsonal, Swave Sevah, PH, and not forgetting KOTDPresident Organik.
Recent years have seen him go global, travelling to compete in a variety of international leagues battling stars like Sensa, Tenchoo, and Henry Bowers. Between battling endeavours Dizaster has also become a regular competitor in KOTD, last competing in a 3 round war last November at Flatline against Smack/URL legend DNA.
With such an impressive resume, Dizaster has become widely known for his aggressive, relentless performances, his dominant stage persona, and impressive ability to integrate freestyle rebuttals into the fabric of his written verse. With all this considered, June 9th 2012 will ultimately prove to be his largest challenge to date, when he steps in the ring against a more than formidable opponent, and Hip-hop heavyweight, a legendary US artist Canibus.
Throughout his career, Canibus has received high praise for his lyrical innovation and prowess, which is matched on The ‘C’ Of Tranquility with production from a roster of top-flight producers including DJ Premier, Jake One, Scram Jones, Tha Bizness, J-Zone, and Slopfunkdust. With this, his tenth studio album, he proves to be a talent whose ability has not suffered through intense battles with platinum artists, service in the United States Army, and being trumpeted—prematurely, perhaps—by fans and critics as hip-hop’s next Great One.
With the introduction of the Poet Laureate Series, Poet Laureate I made in 2001 was 100 bars. In 2003 Poet Laureate II contained 167 bars. After that, many marathon songs began to emerge in hip hop music domestically and around the world. This lead to Canibus’ most ambitious track of the Poet Laureate Series, Poet Laureate Infinity. A 1,000 bar song: 55 minutes long, created as 5 layers at 200 bars per layer. To date, well over 2000 songs have been created with the release of Poet Laureate Infinity in 2007. Solidifying himself as a cornerstone, The Beast From the East has reinvented himself in Rip The Jacker 2 Infinity and as stated before, “this is the kind of music only a mind can understand and appreciate.” Canibus’ anxiously anticipated Rip The Jacker 10,000 (Ten Thousand) Bars DVD collection is scheduled to release late this spring.
Despite his global recognition Canibus has managed to achieve one thing that many of his fellow rap veterans fail to, and that is to keep one foot firmly entrenched in the underground; a fact that is clearly evident in his decision to compete in the KOTD arena.
With the match-up already proving to be one of the most anticipated and high-profile battles of all time, it’s fair to say that King of the Dot has come a long way since its humble beginnings as a small-scale Toronto street-battle league in 2008. With over 60,000 YouTube subscribers, gaining over 22,000,000 total views on youtube, and a back-catalogue of battles approaching 700, KOTD continues to grow rapidly, and will continue to pave the way in battle league innovation throughout 2012 and beyond.
The Event is being hosted In the heart of downtown Los Angeles at one of the cities hottest night clubs, Exchange LA. There will be speakers and tvs throughout the club to ensure everyone can have a great experience. People are coming from all around the world to experience this Mega Event.
