Dear Battle Rap World,
i mean
To Whom it May Concern,
Is the point of a business to not make money?
Do businesses not start with initial investments?
Are clients of said businesses allowed to dictate what happens in the board room?
What does Chief Executive Officer really mean?A lot of people have yet to figure out the answers to these questions. Let me speak for a second, you listen:
Money Management is key. Your business should not take a loss unless it is projected to take a loss in order to make gain in the long run. Do you have a timeline? No? Then stop right now and make one.
You have a battler named “Joe Schmoe Tha God.” Joe is getting paid $500 per battle. He feels like he is worth more. One year later Joe gets paid $5K to battle.
The only problem is that the company contracting Joe takes a huge hit every time they pay Joe.
*lets back up for a second*
Meek Mill gets paid 30K a show. Lets say his show is 2 hours long. This means Meek Mill gets paid $250 per minute. Lets say promoters charge $30 at the door for a Meek Mill Concert. They need at least 1k people there to cover themselves.
*back to battle rap*
Joe Schmoe gets $5K for three two minute rounds. Thats $833 per minute. WHY ARE YOU PAYING A BATTLE RAPPER MORE THAN 3x WHAT MEEK MILL MAKES PER MINUTE? They are not going to make the same amount of hits or buzz.
This is battle business mistake number one. People get caught up and forget to do simple math.
If I pay meek mill 5K to host a battle between 2 no names and call it “Meek Mill presents …” every website will have it up & those emcees will probably get 100K hits. That is a smarter BUSINESS MOVE.
But wait … everything we do is for the LOVE OF THE BATTLE GAME.
I loved the battle game, but it didn’t love me back, so u either gotta leave it and move on or learn from experience and take that into your next relationship. I took the latter.
Another thing …
Everyone is loyal until the see money. Then they run away. Thats how things work. As a boss you have to learn how to keep your team fed, or you wont have a team.
Its like having a girl. You guys can be broke and happy until she realizes theres dudes out there that can make her life a lot easier because you aren’t a provider.

I spent years finding talent and helping mold it. At the end of the day, Young Gattas, Philly Swain, and Brixx Belvedere stand by my side. No one else.
So im wrong if I start a company and make artists sign contracts like REAL BUSINESSES DO?
Im wrong if I believe a company should make more than its clients like REAL BUSINESSES DO?
A lot of people think me starting a new company is lame and pointless, but one day I woke up and got it.
Now I have a few deals on the table & im playing the waiting game. It would be crazy to see a bidding war for a rap battle league huh?
Then again .. thats the issue. We dont think big enough. We are limited only by our imaginations. Why stop at a battle league?
Im going to make it pop with or without YOU. If you feel like YOU is you, then it probably is you.
